Riggers in Kemah TX

Know of any decent(quick turn around) ones?

All I need is for someone to go up the mast and put my wire halyard back on the block.(they will need to replace a line to get up it)
I called Styx & Rig'n, because they were recommended by several people, but it has been almost a week now and I am still waiting on them to email me a quote.
He did say I had additional issues that he was quoting, but if it is taking them a week to do a simple quote, I can only imagine how slow they work. Sailing season is wasting away and I need to get back on the water!

Call Alex at Bahama rigging. He's quick and I've known him for years. Good to work with.

Alex has been very responsive with me in the past. I have also had great service from Jason at West Marine's rigging shop there in town.

Re: Riggers in Kemah TX

Well styx finally got back to me. Quoted 700 dollars to replace the halyard on the headsail with an all rope halyard.
The quote seems a little high to me due to the 4.5 hours worth of labor.(but what do I know? I'm a newbie)

I'm going to wait for Alex to send his quote over and see if it is any better...seems like I could get both the main and headsail halyards replaced for that price.

Stix'n'Rig'n is busy because they're the best around.

They're so good that I do business with them from two states away - we ship back and forth. And I've always found their prices to be fair.

Re: Riggers in Kemah TX

I'm not saying the price isn't fair, it's just that I have no clue what it should cost. Based on experience with other businesses, I figure it can't hurt to wait on the quote from Alex.

I also just noticed that they are replacing the main halyard in order to go up, so I will be getting both halyards replaced. Doesn't seem so bad knowing that, as I originally was thinking they were just replacing the jib halyard.

Re: Riggers in Kemah TX

I'd like to thank you guys for giving me the info about Bahama rigging. Their quote was 25% less and also came to me about twice as fast. They are going to do the job next week. I will report back.
