Rigging question

Dumb question time!....I recently purchased an Aloha 28 sailboat. It has a main sail and a genoa foresail. On the mast there are two additional halyards with separate winches for each halyard. One is likely for a spinaker. What is the other one for??
Thanks

Re: Rigging question

2 spin's, 1 jib, 1 main
1 spin, 1 topping lift (for spin pole), 1 jib, 1 main <-- Most likely
2 jibs, 1 spin, 1 main

Re: Rigging question

Spinnaker halyards will run through a block on a swivel at the top, so the spinnaker can be gybed. Jib halyards will exit the mast (most likely) from sheaves held rigidly in the mast or on a 'crane' fixed to the mast head. On a boat used for racing you would have two jib halyards so that you can hoist a jib 'inside' the existing one, so changing sails without losing speed.

Re: Rigging question

Yellowtulip makes a very valid point - swiveled or not . You also don't say whether they are all right at the mast head/crane or how many come out of the mast below the forestay.

Knowing those additional details will identify suitable use for each line.
