RPM limitation when in gear Perkins 4108

If it heats up at 3000 rpm you have to find the source of the overheating.
It should not overheat at max RPM.

All the comments are right. You could have anything from a clogged fuel line/filter, a bent or loose connection or air in the system. Start from the beginning to trouble shoot or get a pro. Anytime you stress a system, issues that might be marginal could fail

My original CAV injection pump is rpm limited. Maybe you broke the govenor loose. Check the specs on your injection pump.
