S&S design sailboat info needed

Good day boys and girls. Am looking into buying a 42ft S&S center cockpit ketch here in South Africa. Only problem is no one has any info on the boat and the owner passed away. If anyone has accurate info on her please drop a line or 2...thanks

It could be a Flamingo 42 built by Halstead international that was located south of Johannesburg. The underwater line look similar but could not tell for sure. Do you have more photos? When was it built our was in '78

Thank you guys for the responses. Unfortunately i have spent fair amount of time on sailboatdata.com with no luck. Cannot find anything similar online either. The current owner also has no clue which S&S this is. i have no other clear photos of her, just needed to do research on her before committing a drive to see her in person.

@svraison d Etre you might be on right track with regards to Flamingo, current says he remembers something about the vessel having an animal or bird name (go figure, to his defense he has no knowledge of sailing and purchased the vessel at Deceased Estate sale)

Suggest getting the hull number and contact S&S. Could be a TOCK, Tartan Offshore Centercockpit Ketch

OK, I'll take a guess. Based on the hull and keel shape would say it's a late 50s to mid 60s motorsailer. S&S previously had a page up to look at all of their old designs, but can't find it now.


Best thing to do would be to contact S&S and ask them. When you find out what it is please report back w/your findings.
