Salt and tar

Has anyone been following the wooden boat build on you tube” salt and tar” ?
I believe it’s a Buller design button 2, I’m just wondering why this design has no cockpit, just a flat deck, doesn’t seem to offer much footing ir protection from the sea

Re: Salt and tar

Don’t know the boat but a flush deck doesn't hold any water either, allows more room below, less complicated scuppers a real working deck, but strange if on a small boat.
