Seeking advices for Tayana 37 sailing

Hello !

I plan to buy a Tayana 37 very soon. It will be my first boat really for me, having already sailed, but with sailboats belonging to friends.

I have already looked for typical problems to check for when inspecting Tayana 37, such as chainplates, deck,...

But I would like to know if among you there are owners of Tayana 37 who could share advice and feedback on the handling of this sailboat and the tips and tricks to know on a daily basis for piloting (in the different wind directions, big weather and light wind strategies, things you wished to have known before, etc...).

The sailboats that I have already sailed are very different from this one and as it will be my first own boat, I prefer to be prepared as much as possible

Thank you in advance !

Flo

The early models had wicked weather helm, look for a later model where the mast was moved to cure this problem. Also, I would avoid models with wooden spars and teak decking. Other than that, well built boats with loads of storage in them. I prefer the interior layout that had a separate shower stall.

You probably want to join the Tayana Owner's Group mailing list; they let us wannabes lurk and they are a great source of information for all things Tayana.
