Should i replace stuffing box packing?

c&c 30 thats been on the hard for 5 years,should i replace stuffing box packing before going in the water?

I don't think anyone can answer that accurately, except you. Have you inspected it to see if it needs to be replaced?

If it's in unknown condition, I probably would just to be sure. As long as there's decent access to the stuffing box, it's a pretty quick and easy job.
