Sirius 28 Vandestadt and McGruer

Hi all, I am seriously, pun intended, considering the purchase of a 1988 Sirius 28 and am looking for input. I have not been able to visit this boat as of yet due to snow conditions in the yard. It is fitted with a wing keel and amongst many questions I am curious if this type of keel would put the rudder in jeopardy in the event of a grounding. All information with regard to this boat would be appreciated. Thanks
