Spinnaker Pole Advice Sought

So the other day I snapped my spinnaker pole like a toothpick. Lost it overboard too.

I need a new one but I don't want to pay $800+

I'd like the pole itself to be that purple anodized aluminum variety you'd see everywhere in the 90s and I'm betting adding pole ends to a custom anodized aluminum tube would be a lot cheaper than getting something already assembled from Forespar or the like.

Boat is a 7000lb sloop and I just use it for cruising. I'm midway through a transit from British Columbia to Baja Mexico so picking it up will be tricky.

Advice on wall thickness? The previous one was thin walled which is good because I'd rather the pole break instead of a stay.

I am sure you can either pick the tube and fittings or a used pole

Re: Spinnaker Pole Advice Sought

Used to leave in Morro Bay, every so often will drive to the store, spend half a day in it, (cannot remember how many floors has)

Still have in the garage unused materials, like 2 x 3 inches, 6 to 8 feet long teak strips. they sold by weight!!!.

Recently outfitting my current Cape Dory replaced the original winches with brand new, 2 speeds Lewmar #40 they have in stock and saved almost 40 %.

I think he was one of the first to sell SS fasteners by the pound?

You may like to call and see what they have

good luck

Nice, I'd love some self-tailing winches but there's no way I'm paying $1000 each
