Re: Stern Pulpit Outboard Motor Mount!

Very common to tow the dinghy with the engine on it tilted. Rarely see anything different in Georgian Bay Canada.

The operative word being "Bay" We always tow a dingy in our local waters.

Doesn't work at sea thought, I always load my dingy and motor when leaving our local environs, even just to go 10nm up the coast.

Georgian BAY is bigger than you think.

Thank you, yes, I see that. I would not tow my dink across that area unless weather conditions were predicted to be benign for the duration.

S/V Rambler,

Great video. I might do something similar. The motor mount will probably outlast the boat...

Re: Stern Pulpit Outboard Motor Mount!

Oddly enough, Edson is the only manufacturer (that I know of) who sell a motor mount. I made one from Starboard and secured it to the stern rail with U-bolts. Works great!

I would post in the Classified section, although this forum is not likely the right place to find one.

West Marine has or had a similar slightly larger one for about $60.

I have not mounted the Better Bracket yet, need to fabricate a spacer and do some cutting on a pushpit seat, which I am reluctant to do. Here is how it looks:
I have a 1-1/4" rails, and I looked into these. Looks like they can make custom ones as well. My biggest excitement is that the shop is right next to my slip in Warren RI.
