Stove Recommendations

Just starting fixing up a 1985 Catalina 25. Would like to accompany work with a cup of coffee. Hab a small fire with a stove on a previous boat. Don't want to deal with that again.

Re: Stove Recommendations

You don't say what your situation is but if you have mains (marina) electric power then there a number of small benchtop stoves that may suit.

Or if you have a generator then I saw a 500W stove on ebay that may work. Despite the numbers matching I found a 1600W generator won't run a 1600W stove on even half power (Don't ask how I know...).

Other than that there are small camping stoves that could be used in the cockpit.

Re: Stove Recommendations

I have an old gimbled single burner stove that wall mounts. It works great mounted near the deck access. Will cook a pot of coffee in nothing flat ! Im sure they are still around, I think they were bilt in England?? Maybe. Mines in storage right now till we get a new boat, then it will go with us !!

Used one of these for years including a sail to Hawaii. Vintage Boat Stove Gimbaled Bremer Sea Swing w Brass Stove Sweden | eBay
This one looks kind of grody but it's an example of the type. Make great stoves for cooking in extreme conditions as they gimble very well.

Re: Stove Recommendations

If you have AC power, any household coffeemaker will work.
