Tartan 34

It has been suggested that I seriously look at Tartan 34s. I see these are center-boards. Does anyone have exrerience with the Tartan 34 or using CBs? Dave

T34

The T34 is a reasonably priced (<$30,000USD) C/B, but not (I think) a nearly ideal cruiser. Good for (shallow) Bahamas, though.

Take a look at:

Re: Tartan 34

Have a Tartan 34c. It does everything well, but, nothing the absolute best. The centerboard is particularly nice. Down it gives you that pointing advantage and up when running it reduces drag. Beautiful classic design that is very seaworthy. Lots of deck for working the sails under way. Narrow in the beam so it is a bit tight below decks. The engine, while convenient for access, is in the way.
