Re: Terrapin 24 ?

Re: the Terrapin 24. These boats were built by Mike Brescher at the "Friendship Manufacturing Co" in South Miami. Having owned and sailed one for over 20 years I can vouch for their trailering ability. They are not the fastest boat in their class, and they do tend to heel over quite a bit, but they are comfortable and spacious. Wish I still had mine! My hull number was 34, and I still have a full set of sails and a reacher for it, I just need a hull. I'll be glad to help with any specific questions.

Re: Terrapin 24 ?

Thank you! She's back in the water and feeling the bugs out. My main concern is the center board. The cable broke so I dove and attached another but it tends to swing side to side and bang around a bunch

Nice job!

Re: Terrapin 24 ?

I also just bought a Terrapin 24. I bought it because I needed the trailer, temporarily. Now, I'm not sure weather to keep it or sell it. How well would this boat work for cruising the Keys an Carribean island hopping?

Re: Terrapin 24 ?

Yes that's the same boat, she sails great in light or a bit heavier winds and handles bigger waves amazing

Re: Terrapin 24 ?

Could any of you who owned one send me a couple pictures of how your keel cable winch is set up? Mine was beat up a bit by Irma.

Re: Terrapin 24 ?

It was just connected to the edge of the keel straight up the pipe with the one block for it on top of the cabin
