the bottom transformation

Hey all,
Ok I hired this out and the first picture will give you an idea why. But I am grateful I did. They have been working for a month, weather dependent, up here in the north east US and she should go in the water Friday

Re: the bottom transformation

Nice. Do you have a product list and layer count? Not that I am in the market, just curious. A few bottom threads and stories lately, makes me glad that I am currently in a trailer sailor that is not in line for bottom work.

What's next? How are the other things going?

Re: the bottom transformation

Ok I believe the count is:
Two coats barrier coat
Filling voids
Two coats epoxy
Bottom paint goes on today/tomorrow
Drops in on Friday

Bottom hasnt been peeled back since about 2006 or before

Looks good.

At least it's lots easier working on the hull bottom when the boat is upside down. My arms get tired working on the hull above my body.

Re: the bottom transformation

Drop boards are almost done (that darn work thing)
Hatch cover stripped and am removing seals between boards as stripper ruined it.

Replaced all halyards myself and mainsheet.
Attempted my first splice (still have not called uncle) working on replacing Vang...
New dock lines

Friend works for marine electronics firm (does repairs for the big boys and is trying to get me a complete new kit) and will install

Sent off for us documentation, did state registration this am (Connecticut requires both)

Took off old name and removed all traces from boat. New name here at house but gelcoat needs a polish first.

Took coast guard safety class and replaced safety equipment

That is all I can think of
