The Danish Naver 29

I am looking at purchasing a small sailboat and cruise the med. Eventually In a couple of years maybe cross the Atlantic and do the Caribbean.
I found a Naver 29 that seems well kept but I have been having a hard time finding information on it. Does anyone recommend this model? Build quality etc?

I am also looking at an Ontario 32 and at an Albin Vega.

Thanks for your advice

Build quality is ok, nothing out of the ordinairy.
It's not a fast boat by any means, but safe.

I would definitely chose between the Ontario and the Vega and would lean heavily towards the Vega. The only downside to the Vega is its poor maneuverability in ports because of where the prop is vs the rudder. Other than that it’s a great choice if it’s reasonably well maintained.
The Ontario is also a good boat though.
The Naver is an ok boat but doesn’t belong in the same league as your other choices.

Re: The Danish Naver 29

Welcome aboard El Tee and subversive! I don't have any knowledge of the Naver 29 but I am surprised by the other 2 choices. The Albin Vega, while a very nice little boat with a good rep, is a considerably smaller boat than the Ontario. Have you been on one yet? My boat is similar in dimensions, but when the Vega goes by, it seems even smaller than mine and it weighs over a ton less than mine and over 2 tons less than the Ontario. If you need and prefer smaller then great, but you'll probably find the Ontario more comfortable and more versatile. But if you get the Vega, as was mentioned, it will suffer a bit, as subversive said, in terms of maneuverability in close quarters since the prop is behind the rudder. It could be helpful to have an oar handy and a lock on the stern rail and use it to kick the stern around when needed to aid in maneuvering in a harbor.

I finally opted for the Ontario and my offer was accepted... So excited!
