What drift. All offshore boats should have a beer tap.

98 degree beer is warm as far as I'm concerned, I might even go so far as to call it hot.
Only thing cold beer is good for is exercise... gorra pee 3 times as often..

I was going to disagree but then I realised that it is a good solution. No need to dump or store empty bottles on the journey and the empty kegs with a bit of ingenuity can replace the need for a life raft.

A must for a cruising yacht. Although if a yacht was to get into trouble early in the passage the captain may go down with the ship whilst preparing the buoyancy aids.

If you ever had the experience of visiting Chichesters Gypsy Moth @ GW, you would realize every good sailor should have a beer tap attached to their gimbaled chart table with a keel cooled keg.

Re: The perfect offshore cruiser!?

I met a german boat once, where the owner had installed a refrigerator below deck. Inside was a keg and the tap was mounted in the cockpit right next to the compass. Beer at hand at all times.

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"
