I have to agree with the many who advised caution. Once you agree to pay for half the cost, you have placed yourself in a disadvantage at the negotiating table, you have basically committed yourself to buying the boat and the survey is for financing or other reasons. As others have said, always be ready to walk away. All the thru hulls needing replacement sounds a bit strange. A deficiency such as this would make me doubly cautious as to the rest of the boat.
