Tow sailboat n.fort myers to glades boatyard

Hello Everybody
I'm looking for current info on getting a 42 ' long x 13' beam sailboat towed up
River from N.Fort Myers , FL. to
the Glades Boatyard. Boat is approx 10-12 tonnes displacement
Any ideas on cost ?
Any ideas for a towing to call that is local.
Thanks in advance.

I looked at doing this some years ago with a 44 footer.
Mast height might be a problem if the stick is up. I-75 bridge is 55' as are others downstream.
Seatow, etc wanted a lot of money.
Might consider a craigslist ad.

Just saw you have a TOCK. I looked at that boat I think 2-3 years ago. Love the design. Don't recall the owner saying anything about the engine being bad, but it looked like nobody had been aboard in quite some time. Possible to fix engine?

Whatever happened to Tartan TOCK. “Music?” I was aboard that boat when I saw it listed for sale lying N. Ft. Myers. I own hull number 6 in California. I think Music had sailed far and wide, and heard she was shipped home from Australia????

I don't know what the current is on that river/canal or max beam for any locks, but it might be cheaper/faster to side-tie a dinghy and run it up the river to Glades instead of spending a week or two finding a cheap tow to do it for you. Even if you have to buy a dinghy and outboard, you might come out ahead, but might take a little longer than a commercial tow.

Oops, past my bed time. That's about as dangerous as dunk-texting.
Good night!

Re: Tow sailboat n.fort myers to glades boatyard

Never made it to the Glades.
They didn't have a spot for me.
I also realized I don't want to fool around with those bridges.
Had a rough time getting out of N.Fort Myers.
I couldn't get the boat heeled enough , even used a 4000 lb lift bag half full of water.
Ended up pulling her sideways from the mast with a boat to get out under those 2 bridges leading to the Gulf.
I'm still looking for a yard , I'll be getting her up to Apollo Beach this spring or summer.
