Or, if you see a good one that seems in good shape but not getting used, you can always try contacting the owner to find out if he or she may be willing to sell. You might be surprised, they may just need a little nudge from someone who will be a good next owner. Those boats engender a good deal of affection and are not always released easily.

Pearson 35 and Bristol 35 if you are looking for attached rudder boats and some were even made with a tiller.

Awesome. Yeah tiller is a non negotiable to me. I would be keeping all of my self steering kit so a wheel would really handicap my skill set.

A more-recently-built boat with these sorts of design priorities is the Mystery 35, which might be worth a look.

Does anyone have any opinions on the Contest 32 center cockpit ketch? It’s totally a different direction but one caught my eye.
