Unfinished Koopmans 40 - what is the value?

Hi, hope you can help;
One of my friends has a beautiful Aluminum Koopmans 40 and wants to sell to me.
The exterior is completely finished and in good condition.
The interior is approx 50% completed with still lots of electrical, piping and carpentry work to be completed. Also there is no navigation equipment/ autopilot etc etc
Can you advise, what is the value of such unfinished project?
Would it be wise to invest the time and efforts?

That is a very big question with very little info.

There are obvious questions about what has to be done.
Is your skill level commensurate with your desired finished product?
Can the boat be finished where it is, does it have to be moved, does it need a shed, how long will it take, how much will storage cost?

Most importantly,
Is this how you want to spend your life?

The design is almost 25 years old, so even if it's newly built, it's an "old" boat. It will likely be pricey to finish out properly. Unless they can be kept to a minimum, the value of the completed boat will probably not exceed the purchase and finishing costs. The time required to do the work also needs to be counted. Having it done by a yard might take a year or more, what with supply chain issues. Doing it oneself... How much time do you have, and what is that worth to you? That brings up the question: why isn't your friend completing the boat?
