Update on recent experience with shipyards in the Med?

We are in need of a haul out. Mainly to replace the PSS shaft seal (leaking even after we compressed it a bit more, probably due to aging of 16 years or more; previous owner wasn’t much into preventive maintenance we learned these past 5 months living aboard). Checking alignment of engine, shaft and P- strut. (Recently we experience more vibration). Lastly we replace the cutless bearing (even though it was already replaced last year).

We are currently in Catania, Sicily and are considering Greece or even Turkey.

Anyone with good and recent (up to 1 or 2 years ago) with a good shipyard? Also they must allow own work as well as our preference to remain onboard during haul-out.

(For reference, a shipyard in Catania quoted us 115€/m for haul out, power wash and anti-fouling. We have a 42ft, 12m boat)

Try Monastir in Tunisia.

Ask these guys:

It's the boatyard in the fishing port of Monastir.

A friend of ours is going there in September and we will go there in November.

All three boats are DIY and not overfunded :-)
