Vindo 50

I am looking at a Vindo 50 MS and have found some information on sailboatdata.com, but not much else. Is anyone familiar with this boat or Vindos in general? Thank you.

Vindö yachts were built on the island of Orust on the west coast of Sweden. I don't know much other then they are generally of a high quality, as all others from the same area, Malö, Najad and Hallberg-Rassy.

Vindö either got absorbed or disappeared in the '80 ...... I think.

Someone else at have better info.

Re: Vindo 50

Ferenc Mate' s book "worlds finest yachts" has a good section on Vindo. Exceptional boat.

Very high quality and beautiful the same. I sailed (long time ago) a 35. Fibreglass hull, mahogany cabintop.

Re: Vindo 50

Hi. I've sailed one year on a Vindř 50 CC. A ketch originally, but redone as a cutter , with taller mast, bowsprit. A true cutter rig with twin speaders and running backstays.

A beautiful boat, allmost a full-keeler
GRP hull and deck, mahogany cabin top and cocpit. Solid and beautiful woodwork downstairs.

Most noteable weak spot on the one I sailed was the front corners on the cabin top , wich is laminated mahogany. Also watch for water intrusion in the joint between deck and cabin top , wich is hidden behind the teak edgeboard.
