Try to read between the lines .. I know the boat you are looking at, pm me for details if you want to. I also know of another W32 that just completed a pacific loop that is very well equipped that is for sale. I would say a bargain.
This is the most realistic statement here. The key is to select a boat that doesn't compromise the things you hold important - no matter what the forum talkers say.
For a first offshore boat this is tough as it is unlikely you will have the same list of what's important in year 3 of offshore cruising.

Re: westsail similar

I’m sure you’ve checked out the westsail.com site and YachtWorld but just in case, we have a Westsail 32 (Shaboom) on the east coast for sail. We had it ready to go (except for a few cosmetic things) when we decided we needed a bit more room. Would be willing to go as low as $40k so it might be worth considering. Key factors are that the engine has about 200 hours, new rigging and all electronics you might need (including SSB).

Re: westsail similar

Thanks to everyone for sharing your perspectives and experiences with the Westsail.

I imagine as I grow as a sailor that eventually I will figure out what changes I would like to make.. what I am willing to trade off...but as of now.. the Westsail and my now whittled down list of 7 alternatives meets most of my must haves...

Some folks have misread my initial purpose of posting.. I did not ask to be talked out of a Westsail.. I was asking for similar boats so I could shop around a bit and do comparisons. THANK you to those who offered suggestions and support!
