Re: What kind of sail is this

I assume this is a shade cover going over the boom and tight down on both sides.
Missing the shape for a sail and I cannot think of any rectangular sail without shape/profil.

You likely know that hanzi/kanji 伞兵 translates as "paratrooper".

Which makes little sense except as a brand name (but fits in with the logo below the text).

Oo! That illuminates the situation. (Excuse my pun. 照明 of course translates to "illuminate"). So the brand is represented by the parachute + wings device.

The hanzi/kanji might represent a product name or model, a manufacturing run, or whatever.

Re: What kind of sail is this

Ok learned something new...
Question is was it meant to be a shade solution or used as sail...
Well if sail then you can try to set it up like our parachute: https://aideenhenry.wixsite.com/petima

Re: What kind of sail is this

I'm guessing surplus cargo chute that the PO tough might make a sea anchor.

Square rigger sail says I. Raise her on the loose spinnaker boom by the halyard, and set with the Genny sheets. Then keep ye'r head down!

Re: What kind of sail is this

Whatever its original intended use, my guess is that it is intended as a shade or weather cover on your boat. Does not look strong enough or have appropriate fastenings to be used as a sea anchor.
