where can I find parts for Universal M18 diesel?

I need to find a oil dipstick tube and gasket for a M18 diesel, does anyone know where to find engine parts for discontinued Universal M18 engines? Thanks!

I typed "parts for m18 diesel" into the new thing called "google" and got a long list of people stocking parts for these engines...

I am looking for other than "fast moving parts" like gaskets and other parts that are not part of normal servicing. I am looking for someone that actually has the part available. Try part number 299225. Thanks.

If this Universal is Kubota based like most are, have you tried your friendly local Kubota dealer? I've had good luck with parts for my V1903 based Nanni.

You are welcome. Sounds like the real issue is locating the dealer not the part #.
Looks like they have distributors in the USA along the coasts and the hinter regions are supported by the factory.

You might try contacting Westerbeke engines. I think they made universal engines, but don't quote me on it. (508) 823-7677

Do some Googling and figure out which Kubota block your M18 is based on. Once you have that information, almost anything except the marine specific parts can (and should) be ordered through Kubota, NOT Westerbeke.

Kubota parts are cheaper, more available, and with none of the restrictions on shipping that Toads etc has.

Case in point, cooked the water pump (freshwater) on our Universal M40. New water pump from Westerbeke: $650, no one had one in stock. Identical water pump from Kubota dealer: $135 + overnight shipping.

You should have a block number on your engine (or possibly / also on your dipstick), then start Googling and see if you can figure out a tractor (or two) that used that block as well, then you can just search on the tractor model and "dipstick tube" to find your part.
