I can see how if the windward hull hit a sleeping whale it would be like a stunt car going up a ramp on one side. over she goes. But damn that's fast.

Re: Why do you guys like monohulls so much?

today's offering of cats (THESE are the end-results of 50 years of cruising-cat evolution?)- bridgedeck-clearance - totally overrated...

Me thinks he doth protest to much .

I have happily owned monos and tris and sailed cats . I would rather a mono then another tri before a cat but i wouldnt say no if it were given in a will .

Re: Why do you guys like monohulls so much?

to be fair: some of the many cats we saw in PF were good, seaworthy looking boats, one of my favourites here.

CATANAS are looking more and more like their Bali Line by the day. Atleast the helm is not outboard anymore. They will eventually just put daggers on Balis and call it a catana. Kinda like how Beneteau did it with the Excess

not at all, newhaul!
here two splendid & well-proven cats of friends of mine, one sandwich, the other one aluminium. Both with lots of miles to their credit, both cats, that very few monohulls could "outcruise", much less outperform. Both absolute dreamboats for me.
