Wooden Floorboard CREEK: Annoying!!!

How do I reduce floor board creek on a sailboat?

We just bought this boat and the floorboard creek is annoying as hell.

Rub a cake of soap around the edges of the board. Problem solved.

It depends on the cause. Some times the support cleats or the lip that a floor hatch sits in get loose enough to allow flexing. I would check any support structure that you can reach and re glue it if possible or add additional support as required.

If it's the edges creaking, I use carnauba wax to lubricate them. If it a floorboard that needs a stiffener, you can either install more support under it, or eoxy a stiffener to the underneath of the board to strengthen it.
