2007 lagoon 440

Would a lagoon 440 be a good boat to sail from Florida to the Mediterranean? Transatlantic

Be good for sailing from Florida to British Virgin Islands?

Good to sail up Alaskan coast?

It has 4 heads & 4 cabins. Seems ideal to charter?

$260k good or bad price? How would i determine if it's a good price?

Re: 2007 lagoon 440

Im going to make a few assumptions.
1) this is 4 cabin- charter version with high engine hrs
Get a survey with oil samples but plan to put money into the engines. I would budget 3500 per engine for new heat exchanges, alternators, hoses and

2) SD 50 sail drives are the devil and many have upgraded to SD 60s
We bought the sd50 clutch cone upgrade kits from Gillian and have gotten 3 more years out of ours after the survey said to replace both sail drives immediately.

3) The Lagoon 440 is a sea worthy vessel as Impi has proven ( search youtube for catamaran Impi) however YOU ARE TOTALLY EXPOSED AT THE HELM. Impi has darn near circumnavigated the globe in weather gear">foul weather gear when needed but I personally wouldn’t do a crossing without adding a hard bimini and an enclosure. (~$20,000)

Is it worth $270k ? Great question and the answer is , probably as long as you are aware that you will easily spend $30- $50k before you depart.

Is that Ciao Italia? The Cat Co has the listing and says it's under contract.

Impi didn’t consider the 440 to be a blue water capable boat until after they had done numerous improvements.

Impi didn’t do any structural changes until recently when he extended the hulls. As far as performance he added sails and rigging.

They strengthened bulkheads before their first cruise, I believe 18 months of work total to make the 440 what they considered blue water capable after taking delivery in Cape Town. It’s on one of their videos.
I wouldn’t call the stern extensions structural, but a good addition none the less.
