Re: 3 Year Circumnavigation - Selecting a Boat

Antares just launched A44i hull #46 last week in Buenos Aires and are taking orders out into 2017.
So yes they're doing well and building 4-5 boats per year.

IMHO Antares is the best boat out there. I plan to order one within the next 12 mos. Best to you and safe happy sailing.

Congratulations RichinBoca, we've had ours for 6 years and have really appreciated the engineering and craftsmanship.

Re: 3 Year Circumnavigation - Selecting a Boat

I hear you don't want the galley down but on a live aboard with a family galley down is the way yo go depending on the boat. Take a look at the Antares 44i and read Ted Clement's blog. There is a lot to consider. Circumnavigation and a protected helm...way to go. Check out liveantares.com

Re: 3 Year Circumnavigation - Selecting a Boat

The A44i galley is integral with the salon.
The design as not a galley "up" or galley "down" but rather a "galley all".
Works well at anchor (cook can watch salon tv) or in a seaway when lower is better for cooking.

They ended up with a Lagoon 500.
