Add electric winch to Leopard 40

Has anyone replaced the helmstation winch in a Leopard 40 with an electric winch (much like the Lagoon 40)? Is this possible?

Re: Add electric winch to Leopard 40

Yes I did and I led the main halyard to the helm . The main problem is finding a flip block , on the mast, to lead the halyard to the helm. I had to order the block from South Africa . But this is the best device you can add . I also mounted the controls on the floor by the helm and operate it with my feet.
Anything else I can help with just let me know
Good Luck

Do you have a photo of your modifications? It sounds like they worked out well for you.

When you say you ordered from South Africa, do you mean directly from Robertson & Caine?

Re: Add electric winch to Leopard 40

If you go to massey yacht sales my boat is dreamer and I think it shows a pic of the winch. Have to sale my boat because of a family members health.
The block is mounted on the starboard side of the mast about 3 or 4 ft up
The block can be ordered from Leopard at 727-319-3583

The electric winch is mounted in the lower position winch . The motor is a horizonal
Good Luck

Re: Add electric winch to Leopard 40

Thanks. I like Dreamer. If it was in my range, I'd put in a bid.
