Alternative engines optiobs for lagoon 380

Looking for alternative options.... Has anyone tried putting a Beta 35 engine into a lagoon 380? I currently have twin D1-30A engines with 130s sail drives (sail drives are fine but engines are almost done) and am trying to decide whether to replace with like for like (easier but also same issues exist of lack of power in rough conditions and strong current) or to swap to Beta 35 engine with more torque and power but longer and heavier?

I'm concerned as to whether it is too big to fit and to provide enough room to maintain. Has anyone tried putting in a Beta 35 or another bigger engine than the volvo penta d1-30?

Thanks in advance!

What propellers do you have on the sail drives?

Here is a 380 with twin 40HP yanmars

I guess you could download the dimensions and see how it compares to what you have.

Just spotted this an L380 with D2-40 and 1-30 Sd https://www.svstraycat.com/the-boat/

The 4 cylinder Beta will be longer and installation obstructed by the rudder post. The three cylinder Beta 30 can be ordered to fit the Volvo 130s drive and the current fiberglass engine bed.

We had to repower and went from D1-30’s to Yanmar 3JH40’s with SD60 sail drives and 18” MaxiProps. For the most part the same fuel consumption, but instead of 5 knots motoring we can now do 7 to 8. When we have to run on the ICW it comes in handy.
