Another Cheapest Place to Store a Catamaran Thread (eastern USA)

I’m considering sending my boat into the future.

What’s the cheapest place to store it between Tampa and Canada?

25’ beam.

On the hard or in the water are both fine. It could outlive is all stored in the water since there are no zincs or seacocks. No metal below the waterline. On the hard is fine too.

Deep up rivers and fresh water is good. Away from hurricanes is important

Any ideas?

Nothing specific to suggest, but if you are talking for a long time, probably some out of the way place where you can get a crane close to the water to pluck her out.
IOW, not a typical boatyard that has facilities and equipment to haul boats out. It's a business to them.

I guess about a year to 18 months. It’ll let me get a handle on all the other stuff that’s tricky about life right now.

That’s exactly what I’m looking for. Especially a private land owner who would be ok with earning a few bucks for storage.

I recall that your vessel is not completed yet. Does she have a mast on it yet? I ask since there are a few places near me that become easier if you don't have to go through the lift bridge. Having said that, I know of a few places, some of which will work even with a mast. PM sent.

Try Jaynes Maritime, up a creek in the wetlands around White Stone, VA, on the west shore mid Chesapeake Bay. He builds USCG certified day charter catamarans and hauls out multihulls with one of those inflatable bag trailers. A friend had his 45ft. catamaran hauled there some years ago to work on for a few months.

Their price for storage seemed to be fair.

Try Glades Storage on the Okeechobee Waterway 2152 Boat Yard Rd, Moore Haven, FL 33471
But may only be accessible to you from the western side of the Gulf depending on your mast height. Fair rates in a DYI boat yard and a fresh water ride in the last 30 miles. Glades Boat Storage is owned and operated by boaters, do it yourself boat storage, no tides, fresh water
Many of the locals store here. http://www.gladesboatstorage.com/

Glades can’t handle a 25’ beam

Re: Another Cheapest Place to Store a Catamaran Thread (eastern USA)

I stored my catamaran at west neck marina in Virginia beach a few winters. $65 a month in water. Its fresh water about 25 miles south of Norfolk and 10 miles south of Great Bridge lock on the ICW. 3' depth getting in. I had it threre through a few tropical storms and hurricanes.

Try Dennis Point MD, western Chesapeake… dennispointcampgroundmd.com. We know a number of Catana 471’s with 25’-3”” beam that haul and store there annually. Travelift bay is tight, have to pad the sides and go in at high tide, but it works.

For 18 months I’d stay on the hard, but you know that, right?

My boat is different.

It was built to be in the water indefinitely.

No zincs. No metal below the waterline. No through hulls. You could even drill a hole in the bottom of each hull and it wouldn’t sink.

The 1” (25mm) foam core and ultra light weight nature of the boat makes it positively buoyant. You can cut a piece of the hull off and toss it in the water. The flat panel you cut off floats VERY high in the water like a piece of foam insulation.

It’s also made out of epoxy so there is no osmosis possible.

So in water storage is the same as out of the water storage for me.
