Any issues with this custom catamaran for circumnavigation?

All I can think is that you didn't have the "Powerthrust" props on, becuse we have pretty much identical thrust, forward and reverse. These props are bigger with wider blades and no cup.

Actually Seawinds (with outboards) don't all use Yamaha HT motors.

The 1160 Lite has choice of Honda 20 or Yammie 25 (Yammies are an extra cost option)

And are the Hondas as bad as has been claimed? Or is it simply someone who didn't fit the correct propellers?

lots of the old searunners are ply/epoxy and are easy to repair and strong. that wouldn't worry me much as long as no rot
