Re: Atlantic 57 Catamaran Capsized

As a side note, in SA fórums are discusing some ideas about how to implement reléase devices in winches to dump the sails in a fuzz in case of a fliping scenario... and i dont know why this things if they exist are not mandatory in multihulls... seems a good idea no?

There is something in human nature that tries to find something wrong with things we can't afford, it's no different than a Benni owner thinking his choice was better than his friend who bought an HR. So it's not a multi mono thing really, it's just a human thing.

Honestly I don't think you would consider the Atlantic 57 the ultimate party boat.

That is just taking my statement out of context to support an inherent belief.

Very unusual to see that happen on the internet.
No, it was a (poor?) attempt at humour. Hence the smiley. I've actually given up trying to take this forum seriously.

"it's just a human thing."

Truth and sensibility on the internet, when will it start.

"It's truth Jim but not as we know it"
"She can'a take it any more Captain."
Fixed..

Re: Atlantic 57 Catamaran Capsized

Up here we got Williwaws .Totaly unpredictable .I can cite 2 examples .The Grizzly Bear, 48' schooner dismasted at the dock by a GUST of wind ,didnt have time to heel Fir trees in Stanely Park didn't fare well either and simply broke off at the stump. Don't have to be offshore to be surprised by really nasty on a nice day .So much safer to analyze from the armchair.

That was how I took it (in humour), I guess my reply was an even poorer attempt at humour.

As for taking most of what is posted on the internet seriously.

I think its time to visit that forum's discussion as this subject thread is just getting more silly by the minute.

Re read the thread and what the crew had to say. Aren't they the only ones who would know?
