Bareboat Catamaran Charter / Philippines

Hi,

Would appreciate any guidance.

Am having difficulty locating any info' on subject title and would like to charter a Cruising Cat mid to late of this month Nov for a few days...

Don't mind going with a private op' with skipper as long as we can be actively involved. Both my Wife & I are experienced; RYA YachtMaster (Brit) since 1988; the Mrs,- RYA Competent Crew & Day Skipper plus Powerboat Level 2 Planing & Displacement..

Thailand no problem but so far no luck with the Philippines.

Cheers.

There is a couple out of Cebu that has a 40 something cat. It was maybe 6 months ago I typed in PHILIPPINE SAILING, and found them with google. Your choices will be very slim. BEST WISHES in finding them.......i2f

Hi again Imagine; haha, "choices very slim" practically non-existent!
This, in-spite of postings to a number of clubs and organisations in popular areas and it's not as if we are looking foir a "freebie".

I'll keep looking & thanks again.

Thin pickings I'm afraid.

Theres normally a private cat for charter in Puerto Gallera but it clobbered a reef and is being repaired at present.

Try Sangat resort in Busuanga. The owner has a cat, but I don't know if its part of the resort set up or for his own private use.

Thanks i2f, I know the Cat you mentioned in PG, in fact that was our first option..I was there when he returned PG from the Holed trip to Palawan.
It's currently in Subic but he's unsure of plans.

Will, check out Busuanga..

Cheers.

Possibly Pinoy Boatyard can point you in the right direction? Or in Tamboo bay is another cat yard? I believe it is Nigel Roberts?.......i2f

Re: Bareboat Catamaran Charter Philippines

I am not really sure that I understand the question. Currently I am in Tombobo Bay at Nigel's resort. My recently launched 42' catamaran is not ready to sail. There is a similar catamaran next to me that is ready to sail that belongs to a retired Japanese lawyer who is a nice guy. I paddled around the bay last week and there are a half dozen or so catamarans moored there - not all ready for prime time. One is a large aluminum catamaran belonging to a Canadian named Steve who is alone here and recently took his catamaran over to Mindanao for a short trip so his boat is ready to go but i don't know if anyone will do a casual charter (although I think there is a mono that might be interested as they are trying to sell their boat and are looking for cash to move on land.
