Re: Berths above Bridgedeck

Privilege is the Mercedes Benz of cats, one storm will make assure you that you made the right choice. I agree sleep forward on the hook, sleep aft at Sea. These boats rotate (in the pitching plane) around a point about 75 degrees aft NOT the Mast.
My experiance is that while you may stay in a forward bunk when going to weather with a seatbelt, your stomach probably wont. remember you are going airborne several times a minute. The reason no one else builds this layout is because it limits useful space. If Privilege layout was so great you may be sure others would copy it.

Re: Berths above Bridgedeck

Considering that with rough weather most people will not be sleeping when at full sea anyway, and that the majority prefers sleeping while docked, I would conclude that the extra large bedroom the bridge deck berth gives is a very nice layout option, especially for living aboard, when the extra space makes it a lot less claustrophobic. Of course it all depends on the boat, an especially good bridge deck clearance is a must if I were to choose this specific layout. It seems that privilege hit hammer on the nail with this layout.

Re: Berths above Bridgedeck

As I typed where the location of my berth is. I have no problem sleeping while under way, and since my head is at the center of the boat. I sleep comfortably too............i2f
