That is a really dificult subject. Have some great images of nose dives on offshore trimarans of 50ft or over, they help to understand the problem. I don't know of any maxi trimaran that have nose dived. It seems size helps a lot regarding that:





I cannot find the more impressive one, many years ago a complete pitch pole on an ORMA 60 with almost flat sea on one of those regatas they had when there was a championship. It was so sudden that it was frightening.

The same thing can happen with monohulls, more rarely and I only know of cases with relatively small racers.
