bug screen cockpit enclosure?

I plan to make an bug screen enclosure for a catamaran cockpit. Besides keeping out the bugs, it should be strong and very UV resistant, allow good ventilation, provide some sun protection (50-90% solar blocking?), and decent visibilty. There are lots of fabrics out there besides plain bug screen. Any recommendations or suggestions?

I made mine out of UV solar window screen, mainly to block the sun. It does block some view as well as some breeze... Anything that does block UV and bugs will also block some wind and view... There just isn't any free lunches...

You might want to look at Textilene® Solar Screen, it comes in 80 and 90 percent UV block. Sunbrella makes Phifertex which is about 70% block.
