The original sail plan for the L55 was the standard triangle shape on luff and leach. The new thinking on catamaran sails is more roach (close to straight up) to a flat top or a modified flat top using a diagonal batten to increase the area at the top. Flat tops are a pain in the butt to pack in a sail pack. The modified semi flat can pack without disconnecting the batten car on the mast. That was the route we took and love it.
