Catamaran Charter Options, beyond major companies

Looking to potentially charter a 40-50' catamaran in Dec'23/Jan'24 for a week and am looking for pointers to smaller charter companies / independent charters, outside of the main charter companies.

Caribbean location, thinking BVI/USVI or Bahamas, but open to other islands as well.

Have decades of sailing experience, including large cats, so looking to bareboat, but could be open to charters w/ skipper/crew.

Has anyone chartered through a smaller outfit with success over the past ~2 years and have any suggestions / tips?

Appreciate the help.

We haved used Virgin Island Yacht Charters located on St. Thomas. Great people there. We are bareboating a 2022 Bali 4.8 from them this March.

TMM in the BVI have been around forever. Reliable and good value.

Re: Catamaran Charter Options, beyond major companies

Yes we used small local operator in the BVI - about 8 years ago. We chartered a Lagoon 440, the boat itself and their services were was fine, the barnacle encrusted bottom not so fine. The owner seemed like a cheapskate so my thoughts are that the smaller charter companies which often have second tier boats (and are less expensive) do not have the leverage to get owners to properly maintain their boats. We experienced this too in St Martin and the Med with smaller local operators, but we were going for lower cost.
