Catamaran cruising out of La Paz Mexico

Does anyone have advice for a one week sail out of La Paz in July? Best anchorages to shield from the coromels? Yes it’s going to be hot.

Re: Catamaran cruising out of La Paz Mexico

1 week won't get you far -- basically all within Bahia de La Paz and most subject to (not forecasted) corumels.

From our experience:

Partial Corumel protection (problematic if especially strong Corumel):
Caleta Lobos
Caleta Partida (part of it)
Playa Bonanza
San Evaristo (not a lot of space)

Good protection from Corumels:
North anzd NE sides of Isla San Francisco (but totally open to Northers)
Bahia Amortajada (Isla San Jose; open to Northers)
Other side (east) of Caleta Partida

Little to no protection from Corumels:
Anchorages on west side of Islas Espiritu Santo and Partida
Main anchorage of Isla San Francisco

Re: Catamaran cruising out of La Paz Mexico

just looked at the next 10 days on Windy, at various times during the day every one of those anchorages has 12-20 kts onto a lee shore. I advise dive on your anchor to check the set, and adopt a philosophy of “we eat what the cook serves”? Also you may get lucky and be able to pick a few days of less wind? Its bloody hot in July, but I love the nights.
