Catamaran Headroom

We are in the market for a cruising cat with one go / no go decision point being headroom. I am 6'4 and with our boat being a liveboard, I do not want to be crouched over and ducking through the main passageways.

The Lagoon 450 works great - from experience of having walked through it. Does anyone have user experience on the FP Helia? Or, user experience on another cat we should be looking at?

Thanks!

Re: Catamaran Headroom

I'm 6'5" and good headroom was a key buying factor for me, and one of the reasons I purchased a FP Saba 50. The only area of the boat that was a little low for me was the forward edge of the helm bimini so I had the dealer weld in extension posts to raise the entire bimini 4".

Re: Catamaran Headroom

I'm also a bit over 6'4", and I've done some research into headroom in cats. It seems like not a lot of builders like to publish headroom numbers. Newer boats tend to have more headroom, I spoke with some Leopard 39 owners and they have quite a bit of headroom, especially for a boat that size. I believe it's about 6'7" in the galley and 6'4" in the hulls. I would assume any of the Simonis Leopards would be similar in terms of headroom. I know some of the older cats tend to lack headroom, I think the headroom in the galley of the FP Belize is only 5'10" or so.
