Now you've got me really thinking...I could leave the rig here in RI and do the Great Loop under power. Just get one of those big bag diesel tanks to add range and we would be all set. I'm happy with the 7.5 knots we cruise at under power, and the 1.5 gph if both 30hp engines are going. My mate wants to do the Erie Canal anyway; lots of relatives in western NY state. One big reason I didn't go for the power version of the EndeavourCat is I know my mate likes to go as fast as reasonably possible, and I'm too cheap to pay the powerboat fuel bill.

I answered "no" in the poll, as I would just do what I described above and keep the rig safe somewhere for resale if not for sailing. I've cruised before and I know it's mostly motorsailing. I'd rather have the rig, however, for the Caribbean as having the sails up makes for a more pleasant motion.
