But that's how we all rolled back then, such was the attention to weight. As a bowman I was the only crewmember allowed to take a second layer of clothing onboard for day races (a spray top of some type), and shoes ok if you wore them, if not, leave them on the dock, etc

What about beer? Surely you had beer? We have beer. Anything else is inconceivably uncivilised.

No beer, too heavy, only Bundy - and no glasses either, too heavy too - only "lids" instead... (I'm sure you have heard of that)

videos of speeds you achieve regularly as per your comments, would be useful for readers .
Do you think you represent all the readers do you? I have a deal, come sailing with me on a cat I sail and a tri I sail. See how we go.

Every boat I sail including some minikeel boats can outpoint bavarias and catalinas and similar cruising monos. Mind you they are all well designed lighter boats with reasonable sails.

You say that you sail very conservatively, over reefed etc but elsewhere you tell us that your L400 is faster than performance cats, points higher than most boats and even that Lagoon got the polars so wrong for your boat, it is so much better than they claim. Perhaps your's is an outlier and Lagoon may be interested in a buy back just to find out why it is so much better than their regular offerings.
Oh, and as you noted corona is over, and contrary to your predictions elsewhere on this site, no food shortages, granted a few supply problems caused by muppets hoarding, no riots and murders, I guess you are so relieved.
