Cats at St. Pete Boat Show

I'm hoping to buy a catamaran and move aboard within the next year. I would really like to see a few to compare as soon as possible. I'm looking in the 35-45 foot range and was hoping to see a few at the St. Pete Sailboat Show in a few weeks. Unfortunately, it appears (as best I can ascertain) that the only one which will be shown there is the Gemini. Does anyone know if there will be other cats displayed there. Will any of you be there in your cats and allow me and my wife to look it over? Any help is appreciated.
(Maybe some of you are in the St. Pete/Tampa area and will not be at the show and will allow us to see your cat and talk with you?)

Thanks.

There's nothing wrong with Gemini 105Mc's there the biggest bang for the bucks. Although the newest ones don't have real oiled teak like a few years old ones. We like our Gemini

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the Gemini 105Mc which will be there. It may be too small for what we're looking for. I guess I won't know until I see it. But still... it would be nice to have other cats in order to make a comparison.
The Gemini price is definitely attractive! Thanks for the input.

Have a good time. Wish I could be in Fla instead of getting snowed on, but it's ok living on a Gemini.

Re: Cats at St. Pete Boat Show

The 2 largest cat dealers in the world are both in Ft. Lauderdale. This is the center of the multihull universe. They have dozens of boats at or near their docks. You want to go there. And yes, they have Geminis too. BOB

May also want to take a trip over to clearwater and check out the endeavour cat factory. The 36's are huge with tons of space lots of bang for your buck and still fit into a slip.

There are usually a few privately owned cats for sale that you can board and check out while you're there. I fell in love with the Leopard they had last year. We'll be there again this year; really enjoy the seminars. Went last year and didn't even have our first boat then. LoL! Also Strictly Sail in Miami in Feb. A no-miss event for us.

Re: Cats at St. Pete Boat Show

Hello BLC7,

Leopard catamarans will display a Leopard 44' sail and a Leopard 39' power cat.

The Leopard 39' power and sail catamaran have identical interiors, so you will be able to get an impression of size / features.

Call / email to schedule a time, and come and see me in St Pete, so I will show you all the features of both models. The Leopard 39' is a very 'hot' boat, we are selling many.

regards, Peter Wiersema CPYB - Leopard Specialist

Re: Cats at St. Pete Boat Show

Thanks so much for all the helpful responses.

Peter, I'll definitely look you up and I'm glad there will be Leopards on display.

Sand crab, What are those 2 cat dealers in Ft. Lauderdale and thanks!

I'll look up the Endeavor factory and do some research.

And I'm planning on going to the show in Miami.

The aptly named Catamaran Company claims to be #1 and they own Gemini now. Currently 242 sailboats listed worldwide. A few are monos.

The Multihull Company is a close second also worldwide and the best boat site ever. You can download the pics as a seperate (mostly) HD res file and save to your computer. I got lots in mine. Yes, I'm addicted to boat porn. Hmmm, lets just browse through those pics of that sexy Catana 50. That's right, who's your daddy? Oops I digress. Both of these sites have lots of good articles and videos.
Catamarans for Sale
Aeroyacht in Long Island, NY is probably 3rd. Get brokers/naval architech Gregor Tarjans book.

Also Navigator In So. FL. and Just catamarans in Ft. Lauderdale

Actually I didn't forget them, I just didn't mention their 6 US offices plus another 5 worldwide. Nor, did I mention The Cat Co 6 offices or that they say they average 100 cat sales annually which gives them the #1 sales bragging rights.

I'm not endorsing these guys one way or another but if you want to look then that's where the boats are. 6 years ago we bareboated in the BVI and arranged for a layover in Lauderdale just to shop. We didn't buy and I'm still kicking myself for that but I'm actively getting rid of my crap in preparation for that event. BOB

PS I'm your daddy!

Re: Cats at St. Pete Boat Show

The only reason I mentioned the NW Multihull branch is the owner Mathew was our broker buying our cat and he worked really hard and made a friend of my wife and I.
