Yeh I’m with you on that. I’d say the free standing carbon mast would put a lot more people off than an outboard...

Yup, I know the pending buyer. He was on top of it right away. Wishing him good luck.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

Our 30ft Punch catamaran is for sale.

Ebay listing is here - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224877366...-127635-2958-0

In short, fully refitted last two years (sails, standing & running rigging, cushions, plumbing, wiring, 640W solar, new trampolines, Vulcan anchor, rebuilt Yammy 9.9) and our plans have changed so now up for sale.

Great boat, pretty rapid and very comfortable for couple, small family, or just on your own if you like your space.

£35,000 or offers around that figure...

Very tempted to take a look as I'm just down the coast at Moraira right now. My wife would kill me though

Haha interestingly enough we were going to stop in at Moraira on the way south but couldn’t confirm a marina berth!

It’s a great small cat and has been an awesome liveaboard - we’re in Valencia for another week if you can convince your other half😁

Always better to seek forgiveness than ask permission.

Not many berths available in Moraira unfortunately. Inside the outer wall is a good option though. There was a Priv 495 there for months last year.

Don't think I'll get away with that a second time. Mind you, I did buy her the house in Spain with the proceeds of my boat sale so I should have some credit in the bank.

What a small world - I’ve been on that Priv 495! It was sold to a German chap who keeps it two pontoons from us. Nice boat and a HUGE amount of space and headroom.

Both are positives in my book........ An outboard is servicable. It doesn't make the interior stink of fuel, etc, and eliminates at least 3 through hulls......... all good IMHO. These ARE sailboats aren't they? The free standing mast means eliminating a "house of cards". Anybody who doesn't consider a stayed mast a house of cards is not paying attention. Numerous components almost all of which are subject to invisible intergranular corrosion and can fail with no warning taking the mast over the side.......
I guess I'm "out of step"......

Nah, I just mean the average yachtie will look at the free-standing mast, not understand the science behind it, and write it off as not safe as it’s “different”.
