I always wonder: if hull was built in end of 80-s and seats somewhere for 20+ years before that guy pick it up and built boat, how that affect it? I don't think anybody would keep 48' hull in warehouse, most likely it was outside open to weather.

Not that cheap considering this is project and required a lot of work.

It does look pretty Rough, those mercs might have some antique value

I LOVE the Truck TOpper mounted onto the roof top complete with flip up rear window, but it does give it some nice headroom

That was the boat that got me into Multi-hulls in the 1980's my friend Kevin lived on this boat for years. It was build really well. He sold it in the mid 1990's to a guy that de-masted it off the cost of Alaska. He also chopped the lame over sized windows in the cabin sides. It was later parked in Ballard WA with some hippies on it until 2 years ago. It was listed on CL then for 5K.
If it is not too rotten, this would be a really nice boat for cruising the NW.

It's neither cheap nor a project but it sure is interesting.

"...only sailed a few times since 2007"

The stern however might just do the trick:

That was my exact same thought. I would have to think very hard about paying even 50% of the asking price for that cat. I'm betting this cat remains unsold for a very long time and the asking price gradually reduces step by step to something more realistic. Even then the owner might have to consider offers.

Why do people invest so much time and money in completely unknown designs?
