Did this boat sink or was it used to smuggle cargo?

Too bad shes a touch too wide for us. That and we just signed for a P39!
The name of the boat is 'Frisky', Jeantot hull no. 354408530018.
I don't know what caused the damage either, a Coast Guard search gives other rego details.
Seems to have been snapped up already.
Sound hulls and structures= great project even from my location.
Cheers,

If a boat has sunk, what damage occurs that can't be fixed? Can a cored boat get water into the core from the water pressure, and never get out again?

I would think that it would get soggy, and then be had to dry out...

This boat probably wouldn't hold up to anchoring in the Great Lakes, but they are interesting and I think a easier way to go from land to sea for some people.

I've heard that you drill some holes and let the water drain then dry it out sometimes with heaters. Drying it naturally can take a long time.

Drill holes, heat, suck using vacuum ...

Don't know if this works but heres a DIY recipe:
Cost Effective Restoration of Decay in Wooden Core Fiberglass Boats
it sure makes for a good (&funny) read:
(traditional method) drawback to this approach is obviously a huge mess, large monetary expenditure, and the possibility of changing the final shape of the hull or deck.
...best tools can be found at the supermarket. Purchase a few 4” funnels and turkey basters.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

I have seen several FP 42s sell for near or under 100K in the last few years. makes it hard to ever consider paying more. I always get my head bitten off when I say this and I don't mean it to be personal. these FPs and say lagoon 38s are totally in over supply and something like trying to sell a 1995 Ford Explorer.

Thanks!

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

There are a ton in the Caribbean, at least about 20 months ago. Perhaps that generation of charter cats have now been sold off. Private owners are now paying say $600 a month in storage/ dockage like this FP in Key West. They'll likely take one 6 month cruise in 3-5 years of ownership, the boat will sit around and degrade like this FP and will be sold cheap at some point.

And the cycle repeats...... The main reason I'm going with a smaller cat is I want something fun and manageable to day sail, cheap to maintain, dock able in more places, and hopefully affordable to own in the long run.
