Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

Even a third of that wouldn't be "cheap". Now, it might be a good price for that boat, and it could be a good boat, but it should go in the "moderately expensive multis and production" thread.

dennisail, I'm not sure if I get it as the listing makes her sound as if she was a good boat that served you well for a five year cruise.

Served the old owner well. I am the new owner as of yesterday.

Just noticed the pic did not work. This is how she looked before she was rundown.

Meh it wont attach...

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

Many of those Cross pics are pictures of old pictures before the accident. You can see sails in them and the blurb says she is without sails. So you need a good size wallet after you buy her.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

The seller says he has this mono and a 32' cat (that i can't find) that he was going to combine into a tri. He was going to lengthen this hull by 8' but narrow it up a bit and he was going to lengthen the cat hulls too. It was all supposed to be modular construction so he could take it apart and transport by road just like a Contour 50. So it's cheap and a project.

That would be disappointing if that's true because the advert does not elude to this in any way.

This one was a great deal. Sold for around $85k

Was on the market for $135k in Spain and nobody was interested. Was ferried to Caribbean and put on the market for $85k. Sold almost overnight.

Congratulations dennisail. If I had had my money together I would have been there too.

Built by Cat factory means the Build will be first class with no worries in that area, Good galley/saloon layout and Yan motors with only 1500/1200 hours. A good project. Good buying.

Do you detect some envy.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

Here's a cheap one (Gemini 30'). Some of the photos show that it's had some interesting events in its short life, but maybe some wood can be replaced. Probably worth a sniff:
