Chris White. Have you Followed his "Mast Foil"?

MastFoil(tm) patent pending sailing rig by Chris White Designs High Performance Seaworthy Sailing Yachts

Pretty cool. I remember seeing a small cat that he used to test on youtube. Was waiting to see this thing come to reality. Really awesome!

Re: Chris White. Have you followed his "Mast Foil"

This is essentially a regular wingsail with no way of raising the main?

There is no main to raise. Only r/f jibs.

That was my point. I still think its cool though. Adds to my xmas wish list. Not sure Santa will be able to fit an Atlantic 47 down my chimney though

A thread was already started on this.
http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...rig-71940.html
Maybe we should merge the two.
It's also being covered on SA and M4U forums.

I saw those on some of the Japanese longliners in Honolulu starting in the late 1980s.

Might ask where you found that photo of the first Mastfoil??

I have to tell you a funny one, the angle of that one photo makes it appear as though the rig is on a monhull. I was going to ask where you found that also
